Today I realized the differences between self-esteem and sensitive to reputation.

People who have self-esteem, they agree with who they are, even they are denied or criticized. On the contrary, people who are sensitive to reputation judge themselves by social values. They search for good reputaion or something else that are regarded as good in our society. However, those might not what they really want.

Dr Jiang said, "See the nature of yourself, do what you like to do, be what you want to be."

Ten years ago, when I saw people riding bicycles along the Rhine River, I dreamed that I could go such bicycle riding one day in Taipei, and it came true today. My elementary school classmate, Teresa invited me to go bicycle riding with her and her friends from Dadaocheng Dock to Dan Shui Pa li.
During riding, I felt relaxing and saw many countryside views. This trip reminded me of my biking experiences in other city before. (With senior high school classmates in Hualien, With brothers and sisters in Tai dong, San Franciscoand San Jose.)
I appreciated the Taipei government designed such biking roads for citizens. It was a very good experience to ride a bicycle in Taipei today.

  • "21"

Recently there was a movie named “21.”(決戰21) It is a true story about an MIT student earn tuition by gambling. If you are curious about the whole story, you can take a look at the introduction from wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21_%282008_film%29

Actually, I still didn't completely understand most of the math principles they talked about or used in this movie. However, the movie reminded me some important principles in life. It is obvious that the desire of human beings can easily become infinite. To aviod being greedy,  we need to keep the first pure motivation in mind.

Could you image how could the iron used for cooking? If you have no idea, then you might be interested in the cuisine show today in our oral class.
Sylvia's group made "Bacon Sandwich" by ironing. Their cooking process was interesting and amazing.
First, they ironed one slice of toast until it became crispy.Second, they ironed bacons and turn it over frequently at the same time to avoid it become burnt. After cooking the toast and bacons, following was the most difficult part. They turned the iron upwards to fry eggs on the plate. There was a tip that "You had better to sturn the egg to make it easily shaped." said Sylvia. Finally, they put all the things together and added cheese.  I was the lucky girl have the chance to take a taste. It was really delicious!

「What innovations would you like to see in the future?」

Last Friday, Jonathan asked us this question in class. At that time, Jessica answered "the door of Doreamon", (Most of us all wanted it  but Jonathan said that considering about the security system it is infeasible. ) Samantha said "VirtualReality sport machine"  which has better functions than "Wii" that it can make you feel you are really surfing in the ocean; it won't make you feel tired after mountain climbing. Areil wanted "Magic drug" that can magically make people eat more but lose more weight. Rebecca also imagined a machine that can make you do exercising during sleep. Hah~ you can see we girls are always lazy but good day dreamers

To me, I want to see "univeral translator machine." Although there is a universal language "English" today, not all people can speak it fluently. I want to see people all over the world communicating with each other without language barriers.
